Oven settings icon rubbed off
Have you accidentally wiped off the markings on you oven fascia or lost you oven manual ? This can easily be done without any thought … you just went to clean your oven and then gone ! Half rubbed off symbols . No matter the brand Smeg, Blanco, Ilve , Chef, Westinghouse, Technika and more …
Above you can see all the basic symbols / icons and markings on you oven fascia ? Each image shows you a small description for the control of your oven. You can refer to these images no matter what brand or model oven you have as they are a universal symbol’s for the control of the appliance.
Bellow is a full detailed description of each setting –
- Fan Forced Rear element – this will be your most used general setting for most dishes.
- Upper and lower element without fan forced function – This setting is used for slow rising temperate and doesn’t dry out the bake.
- Fan Forced upper and lower element – This is a supper heat setting as it uses three elements, Smeg , Blanco top end units have the additional setting.
- Fan and lower element – This is used for bottom base cooking e.g pizza base.
- Grill – Well need I say more – Melted cheese sandwiches.
- Grill with fan – Uses grill element good for topping crispness.
- Upper element – used to complete bake with heat coming from the top element / not to be confused with the grille element.
- Lower element – Used to finish base bake.
- Defrost – uses fan only and ambient temp. No heating.
- And lastly – Oven light.

And if your icons are completely wiped off …there can be some solutions to the problem, on some circumstances there are after market stickers available and with some brands a new fascia can be installed. Give us a call to organise your setting.
