Earlier today we had an emergency oven repair in Sunshine Melbourne Vic.  The customers concern was he oven cannot be switch off . Before arriving we advised the customer to access their switch board and locate the oven fuse / circuit breaker and this will disconnected the power to the oven temporarily. Most ovens have there own power circuit so this would not have not interrupted other power points.

Failing that you may switch the main switch off until help has arrived. But please remember if you need to use the land line it may not work without power as the main switch being the first in from the left in a row disconnected the whole property. We only advise this to people who feel comfortable with accessing their board.

Luckily Sunshine 12 km west of the CBD and located within the City of Brimbank we had a service tech that was only 10 minutes from sunshine. On our first diagnosis we found the main selector switch was not engaging properly and therefore not switch the oven off.

As we carry most parts with us in our work vans we replaced the combo selector switch / thermostat and repairing the oven in good working order. Before re energizing the oven with power we also gave the oven a once over for any other issue and to make sure nothing was damaged.

Our emergency oven repair today was a Blanco FD9085WX / FD9085FX manual in Footscray Melbourne.  The customer explained while making a booking said the oven made a loud bang noise and then stop working with a plastic smell also . They have since never switch it on.

When attending the property in Footscray we didn’t notice the plastic smell at first but 3  minutes in the bake it became present.  Please remember if you smell plastic its advise to turn power off and not use the oven as the toxic smell will make you ill.

Our tech proceeded to remove the oven from its cavity do diagnose further. And having a detail look at the back of the oven we found a blown connector block shorting out.

This has explained the plastic smell and the short time tripping of the fuse. As you can see in the above image the main connector block has melted and shorted out the power.

Tip of the day – Why has the connector block melted …Well its possible the connections on the block have become loose over time and then this has created a resistance and therefore heat then damaged the block.

We had an emergency oven repair in Kingsville in relation to a Blanco 600 mm under bench oven repair. The customer has described the fault as  ( oven will not heat ) .

On arriving to the Kingsville home turning the oven on the fan forced function there didn’t seem to be any power generated. No lights and no thermostat indicator light coming on.

So to further find what the issue was we have taken the oven out of its cavity and proceed with some tests. After removing the top lid this has then exposed the internal electrical including the selector switch.

Although the wire to the selector switch has burnt out it has also damaged the selector switch. So After replacing the Selector switch -Blanco 60cm Multifunction Oven 7 Function 66L BOSE667X switch the unit was back up and running.
