So how to repair a Technika Oven that’s not heating.

If you follow these steps you may well have solved the oven heating issue. Firstly you will need to turn the power off at the main switchboard. The oven circuit breaker will be labeled oven and should be after the main switch. Please look at the switchboard image below

As you can see in the image the arrow pointing up will either be labeled Stove or Oven . This one is in the on position. You must switch it off . The when you go back to the oven your clock will be off and not flashing.

2. Take the back panel off inside the oven … there are about six screws to remove and then you will see the two heating elements and fans in the center of them.

3. Now that the cover is off you can now remove the element and disconnect the two wire that are attached to it. You then us a multimeter on the ohms scale setting. to check the continuity.

If your reading is too low below 19 ohms you will need to replace the heating element in your oven. once you purchase the right element you the proceed to re installing all the components to the oven and switch power back on .

What our technician found on the day …. well it turned out to be a faulty heating element. We installed the new heating element after testing and the oven was up and running again. So our next post will be dealing with the oven door not closing properly.
